Full Time Peace Officer Employment Requirements
The Town of Hollywood Park (pop. 3,400), located in northern Bexar County, is accepting applications for a full time Peace Officer position. Responsibilities include: Protects life and property, investigates and reports criminal offenses, preserves order and peace, enforces traffic laws, and city ordinances. Applicants with a break of more than 180 days in service will also be required to submit to a psychological assessment.

Minimum qualifications that apply to all applicants for the position of Police Officer and applicants must meet the following:
- Age of 21
- Graduate of an State approved academy and be licensed by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.
- High School graduate or GED
- Pass a written examination
- Pass physical agility test (DPS Standard Rowing Exam) https://www.dps.texas.gov/ETR/concept2RowerCalc.htm
- Pass an oral interview
- Pass a in-depth background investigation
- Pass a physical examination, psychological screening, and drug test.
- Does not have any tattoos that violate HPPD SOP 134.

INCENTIVE PAY:
Associates Degree $25.00 month
Bachelors Degree $50.00 month
Masters Degree $75.00 Month
PO Certifications
Intermediate $30.00 month
Advanced $60.00 month
Master $90.00 month
Animal Control Officer Certification:
ACO I $75.00 month
Code Compliance Officer Certification:
CO I $100.00 month
Mental Health Officer Certification:
MHO I $100.00 month
Field Training Officer (FTO) Certification:
FTO I $30.00 month
LONGEVITY:
All regular full time employees are provided a monthly increment of $10.00 for each year of continuous employment completed
SICK LEAVE:
4.62 hours bi-weekly (10 hours a month)
VACATION LEAVE:
Years of Service Time
0-5 3.08 hours per pay period
5-10 4.62 hours per pay period
11-15 5.23 hours per pay period
16 + 6.15 hours per pay period
PERSONAL DAYS
Officers received two(2) personal days to be taken during the fiscal year.
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE:
Period not to exceed three (3) days
MEDICAL AND LIFE INSURANCE:
The Town of Hollywood Park provides group hospitalization and medical insurance coverage as well as life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance for regular full-time employees. Premiums for employees are paid for by the city.
RETIREMENT:
The City is a member of the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS). Both employee and the City contribute to the employees retirement account. Employees are vested in the TMRS system after 5 years of service.
TRAINING:
State mandated training is provided at no cost to the employees as well as numerous other opportunities to advance education.
EQUIPMENT:
All necessary equipment is provided by the city to include body armor, duty weapon(s), taser, duty belt and gear. Officers also receive an annual clothing allowance after one year of service of $600.00 per fiscal year.
