 Chief of Police Shad Prichard


Chief Prichard hails from west Texas, mainly the Odessa/Midland area.  Chief Prichard joined the military in 1997 and was accepted in the Military Intelligence Corps as a Counterintelligence (CI) Special Agent.  During that time Chief Prichard served in operations in Bosnia, Kuwait and Afghanistan and held numerous leadership positions.

In 2005 Chief Prichard left the service and joined the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.  Chief Prichard rose through the ranks to Lieutenant over Patrol and Criminal Investigations and also obtained his detention officer certification.  In 2012 Chief Prichard joined the Hollywood Park Police Department as a patrol sergeant.  After the retirement of Chief Kwiecien the Mayor set up an independent review panel consisting of tenured law enforcement professionals to review and interview possible candidates for Chief.  Chief Prichard was selected by this panel and was appointed the new Chief of Police by the Hollywood Park City Council.

Along with his law enforcement and military experience Chief Prichard holds a degree in criminal justice and is pursuing a degree in public administration.   Chief Prichard holds a Master Peace Officer Certification from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement and is also the recipient of the VFW Law Enforcement Gold Medal Award for the state of Texas.

Chief Prichard has also held numerous leadership positions in the community to include being a board member of the Salvation Army and past Vice-Commander of VFW Post 688.

During his acceptance speech at city council Chief Prichard introduced his wife and two daughters.  Chief Prichard then thanked the uniform officers for their service to the citizens of Hollywood Park and vowed to provide leadership and support in the future.  Chief Prichard expressed his commitment to service and assured the citizens he would increase the presence of uniform patrol in the neighborhoods and instill a renewed since of pride and professionalism in the police department.

Currently there are “No” openings for the position of police officer however we accept applications year around. Should an opening become available we will compile a list of applicants and post the openings on our webpage.  Please see the below requirements before you submit your application.  Please note the Hollywood Park Police Department does not have a Reserve Officer Program.

Minimum qualifications that apply to all applicants for the position of Police Officer and applicants must meet the following:

  1. Age of 21
  2. Graduate of an State approved academy and be licensed by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.
  3. High School graduate or GED
  4. Pass a written examination
  5. Pass physical agility test
  6. Pass an oral interview
  7. Pass a background investigation
  8. Pass a physical examination, psychological screening, and drug test.
